The days are counting down, we're almost to the start of this year's trip! The latest update came to a total of 4 vehicles and 10+ people going this year. The plan is to meet sometime Monday and drive convoy-style into the Fallon, NV area before dark. Mike, Nick, and Evan have based what they're packing in their rigs based on what we learned last year. If you're not driving a rig and havn't been asked to bring anything extra, then just bring a pack and sleeping bag... and maybe a few guns. We are concerned about weight-fuel ratios this year. None of the rigs are in top running order and all of them will be over-loaded, so keep in mind that you may be walking back to Cali with all that crap you packed. The extended weather forcast says partly cloudy, high 60s in the daytime and low 40s at night. Its not "supposed" to rain, but plan for anything. See you all at the trail-head come Monday!
"Where in the Duck are We? 4x4 Club" was founded in 2005 on the snowy trails near Butte Meadows, CA. The founding members were "lost," had little in the way of a plan or destination, and found an out-of-place duck decoy in the snow drifts. The club was born with the idea that all you need is basic four wheel drive, a few days out of the year and some buddies to have fun and escape the daily grind. Members are a loose group of trail wheeling and back country enthusiasts. We meet once a year for The Trip; five days in your rig with three of those days off-road.
