"Where in the Duck are We? 4x4 Club" was founded in 2005 on the snowy trails near Butte Meadows, CA. The founding members were "lost," had little in the way of a plan or destination, and found an out-of-place duck decoy in the snow drifts. The club was born with the idea that all you need is basic four wheel drive, a few days out of the year and some buddies to have fun and escape the daily grind. Members are a loose group of trail wheeling and back country enthusiasts. We meet once a year for The Trip; five days in your rig with three of those days off-road.

Counting Down the Days!!!

The Trip is so close you can almost feel it!  The third and final Club meeting was almost a bust with only a few members showing up; thank you those who did.  This means we don't have a final head count of who all is going... but that's usually how it goes.  At the meeting Nick Moranda passed out an itinerary with GPS locations for each of the way-points in this year's trip as well as meal plans and gear lists.  Big Nick had to leave town early, but left behind a GIGANTIC topographical map of the area we're going to (Thanks Nick!).  Mike and Nick Moranda have been working on Mike's off-road trailer, which should bear most of the Club's gear on this year's trip, freeing up the rigs for cold-weather camping.  The Club now has a cash-account at the Lake County Welder's Supply shop much thanks to Randall!  Mention the Club name at checkout to get a discount, but make sure its for a club-related or off-road type project.  Last but not least:  If you haven't done so already, get $50 cash to Nick Moranda before March 17-18th so he can buy the food for this year's trip.
