The Trip 2014 is almost here! The club swap meet went well last month and the build-a-thon is almost done in preparation for this years trip. The head count is currently four-five rigs and nine guys plus whoever joins last second. Its never to late to join... just jump in and ride with someone! The plan is to gather at Big Nik's house in Rancho Cordova on the evening of May 21st. The convoy will leave for Reno (probably Cabella's) the morning of the 22nd. We'll fuel up and buy food/beer somewhere in Reno/Fallon and then hit the trails. Nick Moranda has put together a fun trip plan for this year. We're looking forward to warm dry days and cool breezy nights. Probably wont run into too much snow this year, but pack for anything! Keep an eye out for text messages and email updates from Nick that include GPS coordinates and meal plans. Check out the latest build updates in the photo section at the bottom of the Club webpage.
Note: This year we're planning to do a lot of shooting, relaxing and base-camping with exploring outings. Bring lots of ammo and shenanigans to have fun with. We'll eat well and have a memorable time!
"Where in the Duck are We? 4x4 Club" was founded in 2005 on the snowy trails near Butte Meadows, CA. The founding members were "lost," had little in the way of a plan or destination, and found an out-of-place duck decoy in the snow drifts. The club was born with the idea that all you need is basic four wheel drive, a few days out of the year and some buddies to have fun and escape the daily grind. Members are a loose group of trail wheeling and back country enthusiasts. We meet once a year for The Trip; five days in your rig with three of those days off-road.
