"Where in the Duck are We? 4x4 Club" was founded in 2005 on the snowy trails near Butte Meadows, CA. The founding members were "lost," had little in the way of a plan or destination, and found an out-of-place duck decoy in the snow drifts. The club was born with the idea that all you need is basic four wheel drive, a few days out of the year and some buddies to have fun and escape the daily grind. Members are a loose group of trail wheeling and back country enthusiasts. We meet once a year for The Trip; five days in your rig with three of those days off-road.

The Trip 2015 is Here!

The Trip 2015 officially begins this Friday. We'll be meeting up in Meridian outside of Colusa on Thursday evening to do the last minute equipment checks and food shoping. Friday takes us to the trail head for Henness Pass outside Marysville. We plan to camp at a lake that night somewhere in the  Sierra Nevada mountain range. We'll move on to a second lake on Saturday depending on trail conditions. Sunday will be a big day with us leaving Henness Pass and traveling through Verde, NV. We'll head up past the west side of Pyramid Lake to the outskirts of Black Rock Desert. With the hippies from Burning Man long gone, we'll enjoy two nights of hot temps and open range! Tuesday will be a long hot highway drive home. The head count is 8 guys right now. If you are on the fence about going, talk to someone about it and make a half trip! Seeya Thursday!
